Installing Linkbot Plugin on WordPress

Guide on how to install the Linkbot snippet using the Wordpress plugin.


UPDATED: Our Wordpress plugin is now available directly in the Wordpress plugin directory: https://wordpress.org/plugins/linkbot-automated-internal-linking/

Step 1: Installing the Plugin in WordPress

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.

  2. Go to Plugins > Add New.

  3. In the search box, type "Linkbot" and press Enter.

  4. Find "Linkbot - Automated Internal Linking" in the results and click Install Now.

  5. After installation completes, click Activate.

Step 2: Installing the Plugin in WordPress

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.

  2. Go to Plugins > Add New.

  3. Click on Upload Plugin at the top of the page.

  4. Choose the downloaded linkbot.zip file and click Install Now.


    ​NOTE: If you get an "incompatible Archive" message during installation, please use the Google Tag Manager method of installation: https://help.linkbot.com/en/articles/8880835-installing-linkbot-using-google-tag-manager

  5. After installation, click Activate Plugin.

Step 3: Configuring the Plugin

  1. In the WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > Linkbot.

  2. Follow the instructions provided on the settings page to configure the plugin.

  3. Copy the Property ID and paste it into the corresponding field on the Linkbot settings page in WordPress. See: How to Obtain your Property ID.

  4. Click Save Changes to complete the setup.

Step 4: Verifying the Installation

  1. Check your Linkbot account to confirm the plugin is properly connected and active. The center icon showing in color confirms the snippet is installed and active.

  2. Optionally, you can verify the snippet installation using Chrome Developer tools.
