Internal Linking Report

After you add a property to your account, it may take some time for the service to generate your internal link report. Linkbot analyzes your website's internal linking structure and grades it to improve search engine rankings.

How does internal linking work? Our machine learning algorithm identifies potential linking opportunities by understanding the underlying topics within your content and then builds a graph of the topics to propose internal linking opportunities.

Also, if we have one keyword match of the source page that also exists in the target URL, then your internal link report will display neither the source nor the target URL.

Your report may fail if:

  • You don´t have an indexable sitemap.xml.

  • Your website is in a development environment and it is not indexable.

Number of matched phrases = Linkbot generates key phrases per a single page (between 3 and 10). It intelligently cross-matches them to the content of other pages. The total count of cross-matches = number of matched phrases.

Number of URLs = Number of content pages.

Can I modify the existing internal links?

Yes, you have complete control over every link created automatically. You can edit, remove and ignore links manually from your dashboard. We recommend reviewing the internal links to ensure they make sense from a user perspective. Once Linkbot adds links to your website, you will be able to edit them at any time from your Control Panel.

Does Linkbot modify content?

No, it doesn’t. Linkbot internal look report looks for exact match words and synonyms that contain the underlying topic of your content. These are then used as anchor text.

The Linkbot code is a JavaScript snippet that is unique to each property you add to Linkbot. You'll find the Linkbot snippet in your Linkbot account by clicking on "Property setting" and then "Check Status" button.

How many versions of the website property do I need?

When adding your website to Linkbot, you only need to add one version of your website. The tool will analyze and generate internal link recommendations based on the structure and content of the version you provide.

Do I need to do something if I add new pages to my website?

Linkbot will automatically detect and update the website's structure without requiring manual intervention.

Linkbot is set up to automatically crawl and analyze your website to detect changes on your website. Thus, it can capture and incorporate changes without the need for manual intervention. You don´t need to submit your URL for analysis.

How long does an internal linking report take?

Linkbot can generate your internal linking report quickly. However, please, allow some time for the report to appear in your Dashboard. Linkbot runs a proprietary algorithm to detect smart internal linking opportunities.

How can I check the status of my internal linking report?
As soon as your report is generated, it will appear in your Dashboard and the tool will indicate its status as shown below:

If the internal link report is not generated and it has failed, you will see a notification as the one below:

Can I export my internal linking report?

Currently, Linkbot does not offer the option to export your internal linking report. We recommend you using the instant internal linking feature which automatically adds all the internal links for you.

Can I schedule an internal linking report or configure when Linkbot will generate my internal linking report?

This feature is not available yet. We detect automatically when you have new content on your website and we will revisit your property to generate a new internal linking report. However, you cannot run an on-demand internal linking report at this point. Stay tuned as this feature is on our product roadmap!
